How to Get to PayPay Dome Fukuoka: Hawks Game Access + Hakata Food Guide

📖 7 min read

PayPay Dome location

PayPay Dome is in Fukuoka's Chuo Ward, on the waterfront. It's not directly connected to a train station, but multiple transport options make it easy to reach.

By subway + walk

Subway Kuko Line to Tojinmachi Station, then 15-minute walk. From Hakata Station, the subway ride is just 5 minutes. Follow the stream of Hawks fans on match days — you won't get lost.

By match-day shuttle bus

Special buses run from Hakata Station and Tenjin on game days. About 15-20 minutes, and you get dropped right at the dome entrance. Check the Hawks website for schedules.

By taxi

From Hakata Station: about 15 minutes, ¥1,200-1,500 ($8-10). Split among a group, this is comparable to bus fare and much more convenient.

Post-game: Fukuoka food pilgrimage

Fukuoka is Japan's food paradise. After the game, head to Nakasu or Tenjin for yatai street stalls serving Hakata ramen (rich pork bone broth), motsu-nabe (offal hot pot), mentaiko (spicy cod roe), and mizutaki (chicken hot pot). Yatai operate until around 11 PM.

How to buy tickets

The Hawks are a Klook partner team. Buy in English with international cards for the smoothest experience.

Summary

Subway to Tojinmachi + 15-minute walk, or taxi for ¥1,200. Then reward yourself with the best street food in Japan after the game.
